This cold-start method works particularly well in the Precision Oven 2.0, generating lots of steam while the oven heats, which softens the dumplings' skins. The final few minutes at the full temp ensure that the filling is cooked through. You can use these settings for any size frozen dumpling or bao bun; smaller items like shumai will cook through in 15 minutes, while larger filled bao may take up to 25 minutes. You can steam single dumplings or up to a full tray. We recommend lining a sheet pan with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper for best results.
