These Lemon Sweet are the perfect breakfast recipe! Fluffy rolls topped with a lemony cream cheese frosting that is to die for! Using the Anova Precision Oven's low temperature setting and steam, the dough rises in less time. Also the rolls are baked with some steam for fluffier rolls. These rolls also cook quicker thanks to the convection function of the Anova Precision Oven. Make these easy breakfast rolls for a eat-and-moan experience. So good!

Lemon Sweet Rolls

whole milk, lukewarm
1 Tbsp
instant yeast or active dry yeast
large egg

unsalted butter, softened, divided

lemon zest, from 1 large or 2 medium lemons (plus more lemon zest for garnishing)

cream cheese
½ cup
icing sugar, sifted

lemon juice, freshly squeezed

1. Make Dough

Pour the lukewarm milk into the bowl of a stand mixer or a large mixing bowl . Add the instant or active dry yeast, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 3 tablespoons melted butter 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of salt and 4 cups of flour. Mix until it forms an elastic dough. Generously flour a work surface and transfer dough to the surface.

2. Roll Out Dough

Roll out the dough into a rectangle that's about 10 by 18 inches.

3. Add Filling

Mix the remaining granulated sugar (1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon) with the lemon zest until well combined. Dot 4 tablespoons of softened butter over the rolled dough. Spread the butter gently over the dough leaving about half inch room around the sides. Sprinkle on the lemon zest and sugar as evenly as possible.

4. Form Log

Roll the dough into a log. Trim about a quarter inch off the edges for neater rolls.

5. Cut Rolls

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.

6. Arrange Rolls on Sheet Pan

Place the rolls on your Oven sheet pan lined with parchment paper.

7. Let Dough Rise

Place the rolls in the oven to rise. You are not cooking the rolls yet. You are just using the low temperature settings and steam of the oven to make the rolls rise easily. Let them stay in the oven at 80 degrees Fahrenheit with 100% steam for 30 minutes. After this, the rolls must have doubled in size.

8. Preheat Oven

Remove rolls from oven then set the oven to preheat.

9. Bake Rolls

Place the rolls back in the oven and let them bake until golden brown. It takes about 15 minutes.

10. Make Frosting

Place 8 tablespoons of butter, the cream cheese, lemon juice and icing sugar in a bowl. Mix using an electric beater until well combined and smooth.

11. Add Frosting to Rolls

Spread the frosting evenly over the warm rolls. Garnish rolls with more lemon zest and some lemon slices if desired.

12. Serve

Serve as is or with tea or coffee. So good!
