Cheesy Garlic Bread

This cheesy garlic bread is buttery, aromatic, and perfectly crispy on the outside. Using the top and bottom heating elements of the Anova Precision Oven ensures that the bread crisps up on the bottom at the same time that the cheese melts and browns. Note: Use high-quality butter for even more flavorful bread. I love using French or another European butter in this recipe.

Cheesy Garlic Bread

Ingredients
½ cup (8 Tbsp)
salted butter, softened (see note)
1 Tbsp
minced fresh garlic
1 Tbsp
dried parsley or 2 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
⅛ tsp
freshly ground black pepper
1 (15-ounce) loaf
French bread, halved lengthwise
8 ounces
shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
½ cup
grated Parmesan cheese
Steps

1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare Pan

Rack
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Sous Vide Mode: Off
Steam: Off
Temp: 350°F
Heat: Rear

2. Make Garlic Butter

Thoroughly mix together the butter, garlic, parsley, and black pepper in a medium bowl.

3. Add to Bread

Place the bread cut-side up on the prepared sheet pan. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut side of the bread.

4. Cover

Place one half of the bread over the other.
Cover

5. First Bake

Rack
Transfer to the oven and bake for 5 minutes. The butter may not be completely melted at this point; this is okay.

Steam: Off
Temp: 350°F
Heat: Rear

6. Add Cheese

Remove from the oven and open the bread so that it is cut-side up again. Evenly top with both of the cheeses.

7. Second Bake

Rack
Return to the oven and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, 5 to 10 minutes.

8. Rest and Serve

Let the bread rest for about 2 minutes. Slice and serve warm.
