Easy Buttermilk Cornbread with Spiced Honey Butter

all-purpose flour
1 cup
yellow cornmeal
½ cup
granulated sugar

baking powder
1 tsp
baking soda

kosher salt

buttermilk

eggs
9 Tbsp
unsalted butter (5 Tbsp melted and 4 Tbsp softened), divided
1 Tbsp
honey
½ tsp
ground cinnamon
Steps
1. Preheat the Oven
Rack
Sous Vide Mode: Off
Steam: Off
Temp: 400°F
Heat: Rear
2. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large liquid measuring cup or second bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and eggs.
4. Combine Wet And Dry
Add the buttermilk mixture to the cornmeal mixture. Stir until just combined.
5. Add Butter
Gently fold the 5 tablespoons of melted butter into the cornbread batter.
6. Grease Pan
Melt 1 tablespoon of the remaining butter in a cast iron skillet. Rotate the pan to coat the bottom and sides with the butter.
7. Add Batter
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
8. Bake
Rack
Transfer to the oven and bake until the cornbread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 18 to 20 minutes.

9. Make Honey Butter
While the cornbread bakes, thoroughly mix the honey, cinnamon, and remaining 3 tablespoons of softened butter together in a small bowl.
10. Serve
Top the warm cornbread with the honey butter and serve.
