Chopped Cheese Sandwich Similar to the popular sandwich in New York Bodegas made in the Anova Oven. Using the Anova Oven steam cooking method helps to steam the burgers for juicer patty while allowing you to sauté your vegetables all in one oven!

Ground Beef

Yellow Onion (chopped)
Kosher Salt
Fresh Cracked Black Pepper

American Cheese Slices
3 Hoagie Rolls or 1 French Baguette
Ketchup (Spicy Ketchup Recommended if Available)
Mayonnaise
2 cups
Shredded Lettuce
Steps

1. Make Patties

Patty the ground beef into three patties. Place patties on pan.

2. Preheat Oven

Steam: 15%
Temp: 425°F
Heat: Rear, Top

3. Cook Patties

Cook the beef patties for five minutes.

4. Remove Patties From Oven

Remove the patties from the oven. Remove excess oil from the pan making sure to leave about 2-3 teaspoons of the grease in the pan for the rest of the cooking process.

5. Add Onions and “Chop” Beef

Add the onions to the pan and chop the patties into smaller pieces. Return the pan back to the oven.

6. Adjust Oven Temperature

At this cooking stage make sure you turn the steam off.

Temp: 425°F
Heat: Rear, Top

7. Cook Beef and Onion Mixture

Cook the beef and onion mixture for five minutes or until the meat has cooked through and the onions are soft.

8. Add Cheese

Top the ground beef and onion mixture with cheese. Cook for another two minutes or until the cheese has melted.

9. Assemble Sandwiches and Serve

Place mayonnaise and ketchup on both sides of toasted hoagie or baguette rolls. Then add the prepared beef mixture. Then garnish with lettuce. Serve.
